Blessing On Quitting The Rat Race

I told my loved ones on my plan to quit from the full-time employment again. This time, the loved one told me that it is important to be happy in what I am doing. If I am happy with quitting the full-time employment, just go ahead and make the decision accordingly.

I am surprised by the response of the loved ones. This is the first time in which the loved man gave the blessing on the impending decision. I believe that the loved ones are aware of my desires and content to let me make the decision as per my wish.

I hear from other bloggers that their loved one might not agree with the FIRE journey. I believe that this is due to the lack of fund when one grow old after spending the saved stash (accumulated from the younger days). I feel that life is not always about working till the old age. One needs to enjoy life at the present moment. The thought of enjoyment after the grown-up of the children is totally a moot as per my perspective.

My two cents of views.

  1. Hi WTK, we totally agree with not working until “old” age. And am happy to hear about your decision! It’s a very exciting time and the next step to enjoying your life while you’re able.

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hi Alicia, thank you for your comments. I am with you and Ernest in making the exit from the corporate world and enjoying the slow-pace travel. This is one area in which I will embark as part of the “exciting” time in time to come. Do keep in touch.
