The fan-owned club which I support is hovering near the relegation zone of English Football League One table. This is expected given that the team is operating at lower budget due to over-budgeting spending two seasons ago. I guess that the team will have to make do with the existing budget and make best use of the available resource to achieve the best possible results on the pitch. I do not hanker for the promotion. Another League One survival is sufficient for me this season. The team has to sell one of its players to balance the book in the off-season. I believe that this is the right approach adopted by the club.
The above circumstance shows the importance of operating within the budget. What’s over cannot be undone. The only way is to look forward and explore options to improve the financial status of the club and hopefully make a profit. This is regardless of the amount of the profit. As long as the club make £1 profit in every financial year, I am happy with such result.
