Married Life (Approved By The Peers)

The expense of the married life in the country of my residence is indeed costly. Out of curiosity, I performed some calculation in which the amount which one requires to have an acceptable (approved by the peers) lifestyle. The information is obtained from various sources through conversation with the peers. The details on a monthly basis are as follows:

  • Internet expenses – $100
  • Cable – $100
  • Car expenses – $3,000
  • Mobile Phone Bill – $50
  • Parent Allowance – $5,000
  • Married Life Expense – $5,000
  • Personal Expense – $1,000

The above calculation derives to the total amount of about $15K. I start to wonder how one will be able to sustain such extravagant lifestyle. I can only think of the example such as the children of the tycoons.  This is an extreme few. I believe that such expenses is all up the expectation of the society which makes one have the perception to deem the so-called wants as needs.

The above monthly expense is unstainable for long-term basis. One will have to earn a monthly remuneration of about $20K in order to have some form of savings and sustain the above-mentioned monthly expenses. I believe that one will have to make necessary adjustment to the above-mentioned expenses in order to have an early FIRE (if he/she desires). It will be a massive cut indeed!
