Part/Full-Time Employment

Working part-time during FIRE is also a plus for one. There will be some form of income and one can derive enjoyment from the part-time and interact with the people from the workplace. This is no pressure from being retrenched and one is always ready in the event if the retrenchment occurs during the part-time. This is the way of having the best of the two worlds.

There are instances in which I wonder whether it will be nice to go back the full-time employment again. One will still be able to have the allowances of being retrenched without fear. This is supported by the investment portfolio. Furthermore, this will also keep one abreast of the ongoing developments in the corporate world. I believe that the attitude (free rein spirit) will be handy for the happiness index of one. My exit from the full-time employment was due to longer than normal working hours. I left because of the potential health hazard had I remained in the same workplace for significant number of years. This will not be worthwhile for my well-beings.
