Correlation Of FIRE and Laziness

I used to have such thought before I quitted the full-time employment. I wonder whether early retirement will make me lazy. I believe that such thought will materialise for one who is about to retire early.

The answer is “No”. I find myself living a fulfilled life. Having the ability to do the things of my interest makes me great and fulfilled. I do not have much to do in the daily life schedule. It may appear lazy as per other people’s perspective. However, it does not apply to me. I do not bother with other people’s expectation on the way in which I live my life. As long as I am happy with the existing lifestyle, the rest are secondary and none of my concerns.

I have gained valuable skillset in my FIRE journey. It takes a lot of time, and requires focused discipline for years. Financial Independent comes with a built-in discipline mechanism. The long journey of getting to FI will ensure that when one achieves it, one will not be a lazy bum who just sits around all days feeling “useless”. Useless varies from one’s perspective.
