I thought that I have the same sentiment after leaving the full-time employment. I realised that the following are also encountered by a few individuals who also have the same type of thoughts after exiting from the full-time employment longer than me.
Slowing of Aging
I note that I have less grey hair after leaving the full-time employment for almost a year. The hairline also stopped receding. I believe that I am healthier that I was when I am still in the full-time employment.
Chronic Physical Pain
I experienced several chronic physical ailments such as headache, persistent coughing, sore throat etc. I realise that such ailments start to show the sign of reduction. I start having lesser pain after my exit from the full-time employment.
I expect the value of the investment portfolio to have decreased after my exit from the full-time employment. This is expectable as I do take into consideration of the possible withdrawal from the investment portfolio through the sales of some shares in the event if the dividend generated from the investment portfolio is unable to cover the expenses. I am glad that I do not have to resort to such decision given that the ability of the generated dividend to cover the existing expenses. I also take some action in reducing the unnecessary expenses along the way.
Appreciation of Full-Time Employment
I am not sure whether this is a good or bad thought. I start to harbour thought of going back to the full-time employment. I believe that this is all down to the boredom and desire for the new interesting things. I am sure that I am not going back because of financial commitments. This will be handy when the earned remuneration from the full-time employment can be channelled into the investment portfolio which will have the capacity to generate more dividends. The extra dividends can be used to be channelled into the investment portfolio. This is so-called compounding effect. I believe that I will be able to move around the job within the full-time employment with the aim of generating more interest for different variety of job without the potential fear of job loss due to retrenchment or compulsory lay-off. I have the bargaining power at the end in which I work because I want to do so and not because I need to do.
